For ReSound,
an event of diverse sonic experimentalism including installations, live performance,
web based work and radio interventions broadcast in 2004, Mikhail Karikis
composed a radio advertisement. His piece This Is Not a Commercial Break is
a conceptual work which subverts the genre of radio commercials by de-musicalising ‘catchy
refrains’.
